AI Disclosure Language
Template — Required for all channels
This is a compliance template provided by Arepo. AI disclosure is required across all deployment channels. This template does not require customization before use, but you may adapt the language to match your brand voice. This template does not constitute legal advice.
Template Text
Display the following disclosure wherever end users interact with your AI assistant:
This chat is powered by an AI assistant. Responses are generated automatically and may not always be accurate. This is not a human operator. Do not rely on AI-generated responses for medical, legal, or financial decisions.
Placement Guidance
- Chat widget: Display in the widget header or as the first message in a new conversation.
- SMS / messaging channels: Include in the opt-in confirmation message.
- Email: Include in the footer of every AI-generated email response.
- Slack / Discord bots: Include in the bot's introduction or help command output.
Why This Disclosure Matters
- EU AI Act (2024) — Requires that users interacting with AI systems be informed they are doing so, unless it is obvious from context.
- FTC guidelines — Prohibit deceptive practices, including posing AI as a human agent.
- Platform policies — Slack, Discord, WhatsApp, and other platforms require bots to be identifiable as automated.
- User trust — Transparent AI disclosure builds trust and sets appropriate user expectations.
Customization Notes
You may adapt the language for tone while preserving the core meaning:
- Keep the "AI assistant" / "not a human" identification.
- Keep the accuracy caveat.
- Keep the professional advice disclaimer (medical, legal, financial).
- You may add your company name: "This chat is powered by [COMPANY NAME]'s AI assistant..."
